II. Organizational Context and Scope

Under the overall supervision of the Chief Of Mission (COM) and direct supervision by the Resource Management Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:

1. Drive IOM staff on field trips within Malawi and into the neighboring countries as required;
2. Be willing and prepared to work at night or in the weekends as requested, on regular basis.
3. Meet officials at the airport and facilitate immigration and customs formalities as required;
4. Being responsible for the safety and security of vehicle, staff, cargo and ensuring that road discipline and traffic are observed;
5. Carrying out full check of the vehicle every morning before driving off;
6. Ensure cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports;
7. Ensure proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.;
8. Ensure availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, first aid kit, necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle;
9. Ensure that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents;
10. Keep a high degree of confidentiality and discreteness in discussions, which involves IOM and its officials;
11. Take proper measurements to reduce potential security threats to IOM staff
12. Drive the CoM and execute other related tasks in the absence of the Senior Driver or when assigned.
13. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

IV. Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

• High school certificate with two years professional experience
• Professional driving license

V. Languages

Required: Fluency in English oral and written.
